Beetroot dip

Writer: laura6101laura6101

This is super yummy, excellent gut food.

This dip is simply the leftovers from the beetroot chocolate cake I made earlier today. I personally prefer the dip to the cake!

Add natural yoghurt (around 2/3 beetroot to yoghurt), a squeeze of lemon, black pepper and a shake of turmeric. Stir through & enjoy. This made a good addition to the small bowl of pumpkin soup I had for lunch.

Health tips:

Beetroot possesses powerful antioxidants which protect the bodies cells from damage. It also has fibre, folate and boosts nitric oxide levels. It is a healthy carbohydrate providing great energy and food to keep the gut bugs happy.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory benefits and possesses antioxidants, which can decrease risk of cancer and dementure. Adding pepper ensures the benefits of the Curcumin are realized in the body.

Lemons have a range of health benefits, including vitamin C, essential for collagen production/skin repair and is good for digestive health.

Natural yoghurt is packed with protein, for building a repairing cells and probiotics for good gut balance.

**Beetroot has a sweetness which can be useful for people who crave a sweet fix.
